Meet Jessica Baer

Hey there, I’m Jess! ✈️☀️

I’m one of the Destination Wedding Specialist’s here at Ultimate Destination Weddings — and a total travel addict at heart! I’ve fallen head over heels for this big, beautiful world, and I’ve been lucky enough to celebrate some of the most unforgettable moments of my life abroad.

My husband popped the question at my childhood dream spot — Ossiano at Atlantis Dubai (still on cloud nine whenever I think about it 😍). Before we even touched back down in Toronto, we knew we had to say “I Do” in paradise. We chose Mexico — fittingly, the destination of our very first international trip together, just four months into dating (definitely a bold move for most, but that’s how important travel is to me!). And of course, before saying “I Do” my amazing maid of honour knew me too well… no bachelorette party would be complete without a flight involved — so off to Nashville we went! 🍾✈️

Whether I’m jetting off internationally or uncovering hidden gems close to home, I’m always chasing my next adventure or thinking about it! And when I’m not travelling? I’m living vicariously through my amazing couples, helping them plan their dream destination wedding week, filled with lifelong memories shared with their favourite people.

Let’s swap stories, dream big, and plan the most amazing wedding celebration under the sun!

💍🌴☀️✈️🍹🤍

What is your favourite destination (s) that you’ve travelled to?

It’s almost impossible to choose just one — but my top favorites would have to be:

Dubai, Mexico, Costa Rica, New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, Portugal, and The Cook Islands 🌍✈️

Each one has a special place in my heart for totally different reasons — from dreamy beaches to unforgettable culture and adventure!

What destination is tops on your bucket list?

Maldives for the iconic over-water bungalows, South Africa for an unforgettable safari, and Peru to hike the Inca Trail — all musts on my dream list! 🌴🐘⛰️

How many years have you been in travel? Any related experience you’d like to note?

I’ve been part of the wonderful world of travel for over 13 years and counting! I hold a diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Humber College and have worked in a variety of roles across the industry.

One of the most exciting chapters of my journey was living overseas for two years, where I had the opportunity to work in the travel industry and explore much of Asia and the South Pacific — an experience that truly deepened my love for adventure! 🌏✈️

Best travel tip?

Just go — you won’t regret it! Immerse yourself in the culture, wander off the beaten path, snap all the pictures, connect with locals, make friends from around the world, and soak up every unforgettable moment. Travel is all about the memories you bring home with you and exploring this beautiful world!

WHERE TO NEXT!? 🌍

I’m always dreaming, planning, and asking myself — “Where to next?” So I thought it would be fun to keep you in the loop!

Over the past 3.5 years, I’ve had the absolute joy of visiting Dubai, Hawaii, Portugal, Italy, Belize, Nashville, Florida, Mexico+Jamaica+Dominican Republic (multiple times each!).  After so many incredible adventures, I’m taking a little breather to reset and get my travel bug back… but stay tuned — the next getaway is always just around the corner and I will likely have something planned sooner than later as I always find myself browsing vacations!

Next vacation: TBA ✈️🌎

I lived overseas for 2 years! ✈️

One day, the desire to truly see the world got the best of me as I decided I wasn’t loving the routine of day-to-day life and knew something had to change. There were so many places to explore, people to meet, and memories waiting to be made — I just didn’t know where to start. So… I packed my life into one suitcase, left everything familiar behind, and booked a one-way ticket to New Zealand with zero plans in mind.. and I mean zero! lol

Was I terrified? Absolutely.
Was I excited? Beyond words.
Did I question everything? 100%

Eventually, I settled in Auckland with my little travel fam and landed a good job with Infinity Holidays (Flight Centre’s wholesale division). I didn’t plan on it, but found myself planting roots, I worked there for nearly two years with an amazing team who understood my need to explore — time off was never an issue!

Living in the South Pacific gave me the chance to travel to so many countries I’d only dreamed of visiting. I met incredible people, made lifelong memories, and checked a lot off my bucket list. A few unforgettable highlights:

  • Australia — Koalas, kangaroos, road trips, The 12 Apostles, and Melbourne’s graffiti alley… Best. Time. Ever.

  • New Zealand —  adventure, beaches, bungee jumps, sky dives… it has everything and I felt like I was living in a dream (most of the time)

  • 🌪️ Survived a cyclone in Fiji

  • 🪂 1 skydive + 3 bungee jumps later

  • 🌊 Rafted the world’s highest commercially rafted waterfall in Rotorua, New Zealand

  •  Reunited with my mom in Bali, Indonesia after a year apart and traveled together

  • ✈️ Too many flights to count… but only 1 missed (shoutout to Aitutaki for waiting for us!)

  • 1 lost — and found — passport

  • 🐘 Thailand’s Elephant Hills Safari Lodge — the best luxury tent experience ever

  • 🏝️ The Cook Islands — truly a dream destination. If it’s not on your list yet… it should be!

And honestly, I could go on forever. That adventure shaped so much of who I am today — and I’m forever grateful for it 🤍

Proud American Bulldog Mama 🐾

I’m a proud dog mama to our rescue American Bulldog, Bruce — a.k.a. Brucey, the biggest cuddle bug you’ll ever meet.

Since joining our family, Bruce has fully embraced the spoiled pup and only “child” lifestyle. He won’t sleep without a pillow, loves his water ice cold from YETI’s, and usually gets a homecooked dinner with us on top of his “dog food”. Oh — and he’s obsessed with KFC popcorn chicken and gravy lol..

He’s a huge part of our life and yep… he’s got us wrapped around his paw, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

I have caught the wanderlust bug...✈️🗺️

wanderlust

noun
1. a strong desire to travel and see the world.

**I live by this, have this tattooed on me & yes, I was obsessed with this word before I knew about the movie

Wine Lover

Believe it or not, I used to dislike wine (I know — I cringe even saying that now!). But everything changed thanks to Waiheke Island and New Zealand’s incredible wine scene — total game-changer for my taste buds!
