Helicopter Tour
Over The Grand Canyon
The Grand Canyon is one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World and one of the most remarkable things I have ever seen. 277 miles long and 18 miles across at its widest; by foot you can hardly see 1% of the canyon.
We strongly recommend taking a helicopter tour over the canyon. Witnessing the changing terrain from desert to cliff side, from the rich blue waters of Lake Mead to the red and brown rock walls that are as deep as two CN Towers, it is a truly breathtaking experience.
We were staying in Las Vegas (for a destination wedding), so we signed up for Serenity Helicopter’s Sky Dancer Landing & Picnic tour with lunch and champagne in the canyon. Beginning to end, Serenity took amazing care of us. We were picked up from our Las Vegas area hotel in a luxury mini bus to Henderson Executive Airport (approximately a 30-min drive) where our real trip started.
Serenity Helicopters
The helicopter takes a maximum of 6 passengers, including the pilot, and we were lucky enough to be in the front seat! Our amazing pilot, Mika, flew us 2,500-3,000 feet up in the air at a speed of 150 miles (240 km) per hour.
The flight lasted 30 minutes as we flew over the Hoover Dam, along Lake Mead and into the canyon, accompanied the whole time by Mika’s interesting and very funny facts and commentary.
Take Off
Inside the Grand Canyon
The moment we flew over the edge and had our first view of the canyon, we were stunned and got emotional over the sheer magnitude of this spectacular marvel. No words can describe the feeling we had you are just a tiny dot in this massive natural canyon that has been around for millions of years!
If you want to take your honeymoon to the next level of romance, you must do a sunset descent into the canyon, where you have light snacks, a glass of champagne and get lost in the moment surrounded by the Canyon’s great walls, the Colorado River flowing through and sun setting. You will feel like it is just the two of you in this world!
This was just the beginning of our road trip through Nevada, Arizona and Utah. Contact Jennifer if you want to hear more about this definite bucket list trip!
