Meet Tara Halupa
Hey there!
I’m Tara, and although I’m just joining the Ultimate team I have over a decade of experience as an agent. I absolutely love weddings, and I’m so fortunate to get to use my travel expertise to make couples destination wedding dreams become reality.
When I’m not at home booking travel, I’m either sailing, travelling or dreaming about sailing and travelling. I’m a big fan of hiking and outdoor adventure and am always looking for something active to do when I’m in a new country, but I also love a good spa and of course sampling the local cuisine!
What is your favourite destination (s) that you’ve travelled to?
This is always a difficult question, because there are so many incredible places to choose from. If I had to narrow it down to one, I’d choose New Zealand. The people are so friendly, and the food is incredible and there are such a wide range of things to too. The fact that you can go from a beach to a wine tour, and then climb a volcano the next day is what makes it so magical. I can’t wait to go back!
What destination is tops on your bucket list?
My ultimate bucket list trip would be an expedition to Antarctica. Until I can convince someone to join me I have my sights set on Croatia and Slovenia as my next big adventure!
How many years have you been in travel? Any related experience you’d like to note?
I’ve been in travel for nearly 15 years now, and have spent the later half of that time specializing in group travel. Due to some time spent in adventure travel I get especially excited when a bride is looking for a really unique location for her wedding. I had my vow renewal in a Mexican Cenote and it was such a magical experience!
Best travel tip?
I would have to say that my top travel tip is to carry a change of clothes and footwear in your carry on. I personally wear a loose dress with leggings underneath when I go to the Caribbean, that way I can pull off my extra layers and slip on some sandals so that I’m in vacation mode the moment I land!
I LOVE Halloween!
I adore Halloween, it’s my favourite time of year! I do a huge yard display that I start working on as soon as the snow melts.
